Lt. Gen Naveed Mukhtar (Retd.) HI(M)
Lt. Gen Naveed Mukhtar ® joined the Board of Directors on 17 January 2021.
Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, HI (M) is an Armour officer. He is a graduate of Pakistan Military Academy; The Cavalry School, France; Command and Staff College Quetta; Joint Command and Staff College, Philippines; National Defense University, Pakistan; and The United States Army War College.
During his illustrious military career, spanning almost 40 years, Lt.Gen. Naveed Mukhtar has served in a variety of command and staff positions at nearly every level during both peace and operations. He has also rendered services in the United Nations mission in Somalia. The Lt. Gen has served as the Corps Commander of Karachi Corps, Colonel Commandant of Armored Corps and has also headed the Premier Intelligence Agency of Pakistan as the Director General of ISI
He holds two master degrees in War Studies and Strategic Studies. The General is blessed with three sons and a Grandson. He is a keen sportsman, who enjoys reading and traveling.
Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Athar Shams, HI (M)
Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Athar Shams, HI (M) ® is currently serving as Executive Director Aviation and finance of Army Welfare Trust. He has done MSC in Strategic Studies from National Defense University, Islamabad. He served at various prestigious positions in Pakistan Air Force including Base Commander Fighter Base, Air Officer Command Northern Air Command and Director General Joint Operation, General Headquarters.
Mr. Tariq Iqbal Khan
Mr. Tariq Iqbal Khan is the Ex-Chairman of National Investment Trust Limited. He has also served on vaious positions in Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Mr. Khan has also played a significant role as Pakistan Bank Association’s Chairman. Mr. Khan is a Chartered Accountant by profession and has over 30 years of experience. He has served on boards of various other banks and companies.
Mr. Malik Riffat Mehmod
Malik Riffat Mehmood is currently working as Director Finance at Army Welfare Trust. He is a seasoned finance professional with diversified working experience in multiple industries including Pharmaceutical, Aviation, Textile, Oil and Gas and Sugar. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. He has hands-on experience of strategic and financial planning coupled with proven ability of translating strategic vision into practical action plans.
Mr. Raheel Qamar Ahmad
Mr. Ahmad has been the CEO of standard chartered Modarba since 2011, which was renamed as ORIX Modarba after acquisition by ORIX group, a landmark FDI transaction by the largest and oldest NBFI group in Pakistan. He has over 27 years of varied corporate and investment banking experience. In his last three roles, he ran the country local corporate portfolio at standard chartered bank and large regional corporate portfolios at United Bank limited and allied bank. Prior to that he ran Mashreq Banks Structured finance portfolio. He has also participated as sell side advisor for entitities in government of Pakistan privitisation programme. in addition to various technical risk, Islamic banking and other certifications, raheel is also certified board director (from PICG) enabling him to be appointed to any listed company’s board in the country, He also holds a master in business administration from the Illinois Institute of of technology , Chicago and a bachelor of science in engineering from university of engineering and technology Lahore ( UET). He is a former chairman of NBFI and Modarba Association of Pakistan and vice president of the Asian Financial Services Association.
Mr. Salman Haider Sheikh
Salman Haider Sheikh has over 24 years of global Investment Management and Investment Banking with 13 years as a successful CEO being instrumental in establishment and growth of Two Large Financial Institutions with a proven track record and independent acknowledgements. His forte also includes Private Equity transactions and Structuring of Investment products. A decade long experience on Wall Street-New York with global leading institutions like Merrill Lynch, Janney Montgomery Scott and Wachovia-Wells Fargo. Mr. Sheikh passed the Professional Licenses of Series 7 and Series 63 from NASD-New York which helped in gaining knowledge of structuring and promoting equity & debt based financial instruments and derivatives. He has served on the board of Mutual Fund Association of Pakistan and on the product development committee of the Pakistan Stock Exchange which resulted in the launch of Cash settled futures to improve liquidity and hedging options in Pakistan’s equity markets. On a special request of the Chairman SECP, he led to restructure through acquisition and rebranding of Pakistan’s first ever Distressed Equity fund to an Asset Allocation fund to enhance capacity building. He also led the first ever acquisition of an Asset Management company in Pakistan backed by a foreign Sovereign Wealth Fund to restructure it with growth of over 700% in the first 3 Years of management as its CEO. Mr. Sheikh possesses a bachelors in Finance from Rutgers University, USA, an M-MBA from Rutgers University, an MBA in Banking from University of London, UK and a graduate diploma in Executive Leadership from Cornell University, USA.
